On display: Production line NDT quality test solutions for steel cord

Roland’s systems convince with their high process reliability and easy handling in the field of online quality monitoring. The detection and verification of material defects, such as double and missing wires, is reliably guaranteed. The new Roland SIS VISION system continues on this successful path.

With the new high-resolution SIS VISION, the location and type of defect (double, missing or crossed wires) can be verified online. Wire spacing, wire offset and EPDM/EPI can also be determined and displayed in a user-friendly manner. Moreover, all this is carried out non-destructively and at full production speed.

The ergonomically designed and intuitive operating software enables the operator to look at the material to identify quality problems at an early stage. Like an x-ray, the operator can experience and assess the arrangement, position and course of the wires in the rubber.

Particularly in cost-sensitive production of oversized tires (OTR), this helps to enormously reduce follow-up costs caused by defects, increase quality and produce in a process-reliable manner. This not only benefits customers’ resources (material, energy and manpower) but also contributes to environmental protection.

The Roland SIS VISION system is designed for use in new installations and existing retrofits. Its development was funded by Germany’s Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy.
