Weld Seam Detection

The detection of the longitudinal weld seam in tubes prior to bending operations is increasing in importance due to  the constantly increasing use of welded tubes.

In the automotive industry more and more structural and safety related components are made of welded tubes. This trend is accelerated by the necessity to reduce weight on one hand and the possibility of eliminating manual welding and other operations with hydroforming.

The necessary repeatable geometries for these processes can only be achieved with the exact positioning of the weld seam prior to bending.
